For Thanksgiving Shane's grandparents (Glenn and Pat) took the entire family to Cabo.  It was one fabulous week!  We stayed at the all inclusive Riu Palace Resort which was absolutely beautiful and perfect for having a baby.

Makenna traveled well...again.  She wasn't a huge fan of waking up as early as we did to leave and staying up until she could get a nap in a crib once we got to the resort, but in all honesty, she was a dream.  Given that Makenna sleeps great in a crib in the dark, her "room" was the bathroom in our junior suite.  It made for interesting evenings for Shane and me knocking on our family's doors asking to use their bathroom.  While it wasn't the most convenient, it did make for fun memories with early walks to the bathroom with beautiful sunrises.

The resort was ginormous with several swimming pools and lots of buffets.  The food was amazing! And per my usual routine, I got as in shape as possible before the trip so I could stuff my face without as much guilt.  Makenna gobbled up the guacamole and papaya along with all sorts of foods we don't usually have in the states.  So much for waiting several days between trying new foods!

Makenna LOVED swimming.  She really is a water bug.  We thought she wouldn't be a fan since the water in the pool was on the chilly side.  Nope.  We put her in and as soon as I pulled her out thinking her little body was getting cold, she fussed and immediately happied up when I put her back in.  Shane and her spend quite a bit of time motoring around the pool.  She would kick her legs and giggle.  Oh how she makes me smile!

She was a fan of the beach too.  Since she could crawl on this trip it was even more fun b/c she left a little turtle trail in the sand as she crawled along.

We made an important and very fun discovery this trip when it came to playing in the ocean...inner tubes are awesome in Cabo!  We spent HOURS in our inner tubes riding the waves in and out.  Us girls only lasted a little bit (I can only handle so much of that drowning feeling as you get dumped out of your tube and your suit fills up with sand).  The boys gave us lots of laughs as we watched them get wrecked time after time with the occasional victory over the waves.

Normally I like to sit in the sun and read while on vacation.  But with a baby, I discovered that it is so much more fun to watch Makenna experience this wonderful world.  What a blessing to be able to go to Cabo and watch her play on the beach, feel the ocean on her toes, swim with her dad in the pool, eat lots of varieties of food and spend so much time with her extended family.
